Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially settled their divorce, concluding their two-year marriage. The settlement, filed in court documents obtained by CNN, comes roughly four months after Lopez petitioned for the divorce in August.
No Spousal Support Requested
According to the settlement agreement, neither Lopez nor Affleck requested spousal support.
A Love Story Ends
The couple first tied the knot in a Las Vegas elopement in July 2022, followed by a formal ceremony in Riceboro, Georgia, a month later. Their split coincided with reports of them living separately, Lopez canceling her summer tour to focus on family, and the couple listing their Beverly Hills home for sale.
Bennifer: Two Decades of History
Lopez and Affleck’s romance spanned more than two decades. The two met in 2002 while filming the comedy Gigli, sparking a relationship that captivated fans. They initially became engaged that same year but postponed their wedding in 2003 due to intense media scrutiny. They split in early 2004, only to reconcile in 2021, to the delight of “Bennifer” fans.
Affleck Reflects on Their Journey
In a 2021 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Affleck expressed gratitude for their relationship, saying, “My life now reflects not just the person I want to be but the person I feel I am – not perfect, but someone striving for honesty and authenticity.”
