Plane Crash in Kazakhstan Leaves Dozens Feared Dead

A passenger plane carrying 67 people from Azerbaijan to southern Russia crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday, leaving dozens feared dead. At least 28 survivors, including two children, were hospitalized, authorities reported. Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 made an emergency landing 3 kilometers from Aktau due to a suspected bird strike, according to officials. The aircraft caught fire upon impact, with rescue teams extinguishing the blaze. Passengers included citizens from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, according to initial reports.
